Earl McDonald "Bud" Latham, Jr. age 91 a resident of Washington, NC died Friday May 27, 2022 with his family by his side at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday May 31, 2022 at Oakdale Cemetery and will be officiated by Eddie Gurganus.

Mr. Latham is survived by his wife Daisy Carol Woolard Latham, Two daughters, Linda Latham Hamilton (Jeff) of Wilson, Paula Latham Kennedy of Washington, three grandsons, Brad Hamilton of Raleigh, Ryan Kennedy (Logan) of Williamston, Ross Kennedy of Williamston.

Mr. Latham was preceded in death by a brother William "Billy" Latham.

On March 26, 1951, he married the former Daisy Carol Woolard. They Celebrated 71 years of marriage in March 2022. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Washington. He attended School in Chocowinity then at Washington High School. He loved living on the Pamlico River. From the age of 9 he had his own little rowboat that he would paddle around between the old Park Boat Co. and the boat ramps. Bigger boats followed as he grew up and started a family. He loved fishing and family time on the water. After the boats came his Harley Davidsons and getting his pilot's license. Regardless of his working, playing, taking care of his yard, and sitting in his swing to admire his work, his greatest devotion was to his family. Bud was with the Army National Guard and served as a medic during the Korean War. He was manager at Mallison Implement Company for 27 years and then Mitchell Tractor Company for an additional 27 years. During these 54 years of selling farm equipment he was a well thought of man with family, friends and the farming community. Bud's Uncle Lloyd R. Latham & Aunt Neva Pearl Latham spent a lot of time with him as he grew up. They played a big part in raising him. Uncle Lloyd's love for boats and Harleys passed on to Bud.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the cemetery.
