    Mr. Danny W. Moore, age 71, a resident of Langley Road, Chocowinity, NC died Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at his home with family by his side.

    A graveside funeral service will be held 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2022, at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Pastor Johnnie Houston.

    The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

    Mr. Moore was born in Beaufort County on September 18, 1950, son of the late Julius Elmo Moore and the late Louise Tyer Moore. He was a 1968 graduate of Washington High School. He later received his associates degree in welding. On April 5, 1969, he married the love of his life, the former Gloria Jean Purifoy. Mr. Moore loved fishing, hunting, collecting knives and guns, antique cars and going to car shows. His greatest love was for his family.

    Surviving along with his wife: Gloria of the home are his daughters: Laura Moore (Lee Brown) of Washington, and April Moore Schmidt (Shane) of Washington; the apple of his eye, a grandson: Harrison Schmidt; and a sister: Hilda Bundy (Charlie) of Creswell. He was preceded in death by brothers Rodney Moore and Larry Moore and sister Deborah Moore.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly request that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
