To restore the American Constitutional Republic, the American oligarchy must be overthrown | Eastern North Carolina Now

Guest post by Lawrence Sellin

Yes, continue to vote, but do not expect the predicted electoral “red wave” of Congressional Republicans to change the status quo in Washington D.C.

The Republican Party, led by Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell and Republican House leader Kevin McCarthy, remains tightly in the grip of the oligarchy, which in 1993 Lewis Lapham described as:

“that 2% of the population who own the media and the banks, manage the government, operate the universities, print the money, write the laws and, every four years, hire a President.”

The Republican and Democrat parties, as presently constituted, do not want the United States to function as a constitutional republic accountable to the people because it inhibits their ability to accrue personal power and profit for themselves and their financial backers.

To get conservatives into office first we have to have honest elections free of voter fraud and honest people counting the ballots.

The key is 1) getting conservative majorities in our legislative bodies, federal and state, and then 2) electing conservative leadership of those bodies. McConnell and McCarthy just will not do at the federal level and neither will Berger and Moore at the state level. All four are RINOs of the worst order who have been carrying water for the socialist Democrats on way too many issues.

McConnell's nucleus in the Senate GOP caucus is less that half, so he is a prime target. A number of McConnell loyalists are retiring and their replacements will be Trump endorsed conservatives. Several GOP nominees in seats that are pickup opportunities are also Trump endorsed conservatives. Finally, at least one McConnell loyalist, Lisa Murkowski is behind by double digits in the polls to a Trump endorsed conservative. There desperately needs to be challenges to both McConnell and McCarthy when the new Congress convenes.

The state level is just as disgusting with ultra RINOs Tim Moore and Phil Berger. Right now they are trying to back Roy Cooper in giving us the Obamacare Medicaid expansion. Last year, they colluded with Roy Cooper to give us the NC Green New Deal, which is more radical than the EU's version. Before that they backed Roy Cooper to pander to the gender benders by repealing our bathroom privacy law. Whose side are these guys on? It looks like Roy Cooper's more than the GOP base. Republicans can do a heck of a lot better than Berger and Moore.
