Beaufort County's Commissioners met in a special session, May 31 2022, to continue the budgeting process, where the professed "Progressives" moved expediently to spend unwisely the People's money.

At the end of the deliberations of the Expansion Budget, the cost of that particular budget had remained intact, growing by an additional 22,000.00 added to it for good measure, passing 5 to 2, with the Center /Left Coalition winning the day for the constituents of these self-professed "progressives". Conservative commissioners Deatherage and Richardson, once again, lost in their efforts to cut runaway government spending, which has been on a straight line progression in spending since the 2015 /2016 Fiscal Budget, continuing forward.

The Fifth budgetary session, May 31 2022, of this 2022 /2023 Fiscal Budget - Part 2 - lasting about 24 minutes (additional parts forthcoming, and can be found here): Below.

Should Beaufort County's Commissioners fund more projects, while adding to the county government work force, or, should these servants to the People work to cut wasteful spending, and give the taxpayers of Beaufort County a break on taxes, possibly starting a new purpose for their existence?
Yes, please spend more; so much needs to be done in Beaufort County, and we need more government employees doing it.
No, please work to be frugal; more mindful that this is the public's money, and return to taxpayers what is not absolutely needed.
Why should I pay attention to stuff?
