Myrtle Beach's Best Time of the Year ... Shhhhhh: Part III | Eastern North Carolina Now

Publisher's note: This is the third installment of a multiple part series. The first segment may be accessed by clicking here.

Every series of beach pictures, here in BCN, always begin or end with a sunrise, or sunset, and this series is no different. Here we devote this space exclusively to one incredible sunrise in September at the southern end of the "Grand Strand" near the Myrtle Beach State Park. Here below are the images from this sunrise of September 16, 2012.

This is just one more fine reason why we are so ecstatic to have the opportunity to be where I want to be, just at the right time of the year.
This September morn was cool but comfortable. It was the beginning of a beautiful but final day at the beach, and I was blessed to begin the day anew with this brilliant sunrise: Above and below.     photos by Stan Deatherage   Click the picture to expand to as much as 1000 pixels wide within most expanded images, and then push the arrows embedded in the center edge of the play-box to access the gallery, and slide new images into viewing within the center of the screen.

The sunrise emblazoned upon the sky and the sand makes for wonderful images here and in the soul immortal: Above and below.     photos by Stan Deatherage   Click the picture to expand to as much as 1000 pixels wide within most expanded images, and then push the arrows embedded in the center edge of the play-box to access the gallery, and slide new images into viewing within the center of the screen.

The Lord speaks in brilliant hues: Above and below.     photos by Stan Deatherage   Click the picture to expand to as much as 1000 pixels wide within most expanded images, and then push the arrows embedded in the center edge of the play-box to access the gallery, and slide new images into viewing within the center of the screen.

As one might could understand, once the sun rises, one must employ the polarizing filter to capture the shot without overexposure or glare. The shot may be be a bit underexposed, but it surely projects the mood of the moment: Above and below.     photos by Stan Deatherage   Click the picture to expand to as much as 1000 pixels wide within most expanded images, and then push the arrows embedded in the center edge of the play-box to access the gallery, and slide new images into viewing within the center of the screen.

It is well into the 7:00 hour before it is bright enough to shoot south (without the filter): Above. And then I turned back to the north, replaced the polarizing lens, and shot again at the right moment: Below.     photos by Stan Deatherage   Click the picture to expand to as much as 1000 pixels wide within most expanded images, and then push the arrows embedded in the center edge of the play-box to access the gallery, and slide new images into viewing within the center of the screen.
