    Mr. Walter Dudley Martin, age 80, a resident of Blounts Creek, NC died Wednesday September 14, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.

    A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 17, 2022, at Edward Christian Church officiated by Pastor David Linton. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in Core Point Cemetery.

    The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Edward Christian Church.

    Mr. Martin was born in Beaufort County on January 11, 1942, son of the late Clinton Earl Martin and the late Beatrice Dell Bennett Martin. He was a 1960 graduate of Aurora High School. He married the former Shirley Patricia Dixon who preceded him in death on March 26, 1996. On December 13, 1996, he married the former Linda Sue Blanchard who survives. Mr. Martin was an electrician at Texas Gulf and retired in 2002 when the company was PotashCorp. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, and skiing. He was a dog breeder of Yorkies, Poodles, and Boykin Spaniels. Mr. Martin was a member of Aurora Lodge 300 AF & AM, the Scottish Rite, and Edward Christian Church. Many knew him as the life of the party.

    Surviving along with his wife: Linda of the home are his children: Clinton "Travis" Martin of Blounts Creek, Michael Martin (Darla) of Blounts Creek, and Paige Treichler (Tom) of Holly Springs; brother: Gary Martin (Connie) of Blounts Creek; five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Mr. Martin was predeceased, along with his parents and first wife, by a sister: Loretta Stilley.

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center in Washington, ECU Home Health Care Services and Admedisys Hospice.
