Robert Bryan Cox | Eastern NC Now

    Mr. Robert Bryan Cox, age 84, a former resident of Blounts Creek, died Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

    Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Friday, September 16, 2022, from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, conducted by Rev. Leslie Mills. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Washington.

    David Cox and Myles Cox will serve as pallbearers.

    Mr. Cox was born in Beaufort County on February 5, 1938. He was the son of the late Elmer Joseph Cox and Edna Cox. Mr. Cox was a retired farmer. He was a member of Ephesus Free Will Baptist Church in Blounts Creek and Wares Chapel United Methodist Church in Washington. Mr. Cox attended the Saturday Night Jamboree as long as his health permitted. He was an animal lover and loved talking to people.

    Mr. Cox is survived by a sister-in-law, Jean Hodges Cox of Greenville; nephew, David Cox and his wife Audra; great nephew, Myles Cox; great niece, Hayden Rudy Cox; cousins, Joyce Cox Woolard, Faye Cox Riley, Barbara Cox Chauncey and special friends, Ernest Harding Cutler, and Mary Cutler Peters.

    He is predeceased by his parents and brother, A. Rudy Cox.

    The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12 Noon Friday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory.

    The family would like to thank the staff at Ridgewood Nursing Home for their kind and loving care over the past 12 years.
