New right of center Swedish government to take aim at immigration | Eastern NC Now

will tighten citizenship rules, increase deportations

ENCNow

The right of center winners of the Swedish election have formed a new government that will put an emphasis on tackling immigration issues.  Their announced plans include increasing deportations of migrants who commit crimes in Sweden, including those involved with the migrant crime gangs, even if they are not themselves convicted of a crime.  New rules on citizenship will make it more difficult for foreigners to obtain Swedish citizenship.  Sentences for crimes linked to the migrant criminal gangs will be doubled.

The Sweden Democrats, the center-right Moderate Party, the Christian Democrats, and the Liberal Party announced the Lido agreement as the foundation of the new government, and the leader of the Moderate Party was approved as prime minister by a vote of 176-173.
