   Business and Industry Services at Beaufort County Community College will offer a seminar on strategic planning for those considering or starting a venture into self-employment who want to improve the odds of a great start.

   The seminar, Bursting Out of the Blocks, will be 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, in Room 828 of Building 8 on the BCCC campus. Instructor Gregg Pilburn will help participants probe issues that are often ignored in the early stages of starting a business. Pilburn, owner of Leader's Edge Consulting, Inc. in Colorado, will teach a process for strategic and tactical planning and philosophies for staying balanced in the first stages of self-employment, among other topics.

   Attendance is free of charge but pre-registration is recommended in order to reserve seating and to allow the college to adequately prepare materials.
