Janet Rae Boyd Tolston | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Janet Rae Boyd Tolston, age 85, a resident of Washington, died Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Ridgewood Manor Nursing home in Washington.

    The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory, conducted by Pastor Randy Wallace. Burial in be private.

    Mrs. Tolston was born in Washington, N.C. on January 19, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Seaphus Boyd and Rena Heath Boyd. Mts. Tolston worked several jobs over her career. She retired as Payroll Clerk for Beaufort County. Mrs. Tolston was a member of the Fifteenth Street Church of God, a former Sunday School teacher and helped operate the church's House of Hope. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping.

    On April 26, 1958, she married Henry Taylor Tolston, who preceded her in death, January 29, 1015.

    Mrs. Tolston is survived by her son, Lawrence Tolston and wife, Lisa of Greenville; two granddaughters, Stacy Alford and husband, Phillip of Greenville, Emily Knight and husband, Staton of Bethel; three great grandchildren, Logan Wainwright, Presley Alford, Dawson Knight; and many nieces and nephews.

    In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Tolston was preceded in death by her sister, Irmadell Ingalls and brother, Jerry Boyd.
