Joyce Smith Boyd | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Joyce Smith Boyd, age 82, a resident of Washington, NC died Monday, December 19, 2022, at Autumnfield Assisted Living.

    Visitation will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 21st at Old Ford Church of Christ. Service will be immediately following at 2:00 PM and will be officiated by Reggie Braziel. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Grandsons, Austin Boyd, Zachary Ross, Nicholas Ross and nephews Alton Smith, Chuck Smith and Ricky Smith will serve as pallbearers. Joe Ayers will serve as honorary pallbearer.

    Mrs. Boyd was born in Beaufort County on November 13, 1940, to the late Carbie C. Smith and Annie Wallace Smith. She graduated from Bath High School in 1959. On June 11, 1959, she married Linwood Earl Boyd. She worked for over 25 years as a Bookkeeper for Hospital Pharmacy in Washington. She was a member of Old Ford Church of Christ and served for many years on Circle #3.

    Survivors include a son, Kevin Earl Boyd of Washington, a daughter, Tammy Ross (Randy) of Johnson City, TN, five grandchildren, Zachary Ross, Isla Ross, Nicholas Ross, Austin Boyd and Alexis Boyd, a great-granddaughter, Eliot Ross, a brother Roland Smith.
