Alice Ree Cherry Alligood | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Alice Ree Cherry Alligood, age 90, died Saturday, March 4, 2023 at her home in Blounts Creek.

    Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 8, 2023, from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, conducted by Pastor David Linton. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington.

    The following will serve as pallbearers: Jason Nipple, Josh Hardy, Kevin Branch, Caden Padilla, Carl Elks, and Roger Cates.

    Mrs. Alligood was born in Beaufort County on May 22, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Julius Cherry and Lyda Jackson Cherry. Mrs. Alligood worked for many years in the Fabric and Crafts Department at Walmart. She was a member of the Old Ford Church of Christ. In her spare time, Mrs. Alligood enjoyed sewing, basket making, yard work and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

    On July 2, 1951, Mrs. Alligood married Delmer E. Alligood, who preceded her in death.

    Surviving are her children, Donna Alligood Nipple and husband Keith of Blounts Creek, Delmer A. Alligood and wife Tonya of Plymouth, Cindy Alligood Linton and husband Larry of Blounts Creek; grandchildren, Jason Nipple and wife Bridgett, Sarah Hardy and husband Josh, Melanie Branch and husband Kevin, Hannah Linton and fiancé Caden Padilla; great grandchildren, Avah, Mya, Maverick, Shay, Dalton; sister, Nellie Cherry Elks, and husband C.S.; and beloved grandpuppy Max.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.
