Salvadoran president says US is banana republic over Trump charge | Eastern North Carolina Now

President Nayib Bukele, the popular democratically elected President of El Salvador, a country once known as a banana republic, has blasted the indictment of President Trump, portraying it as a "banana republic" move in the US.  "Imagine if this happened to the leading opposition candidate here in El Salvador" he declared.
