Ralph Thomas “Tommy” Tetterton | Eastern NC Now

    Mr. Ralph Thomas "Tommy" Tetterton, age 85, a resident of Rocky Mount, NC died Monday April 10, 2023, at Nash General Hospital.

    A private memorial service will be held for family at a later date.

    Tommy was born in Beaufort County on July 29, 1937, son of the late David Allen Tetterton and the late Eva Brownie Chambers Tetterton. He was a 1955 graduate of Pantego High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1969. His working career consisted of working with Sprint Telephone in Rocky Mount, where he had been in maintenance as an installer. Tommy loved bowling, boating, and fishing in salt water as well as fresh water, but nothing compared to his love for his family, especially his nieces and nephews, who dearly loved him.

    Survivors include a brother, John David "Johnny" Tetterton of Jamesville; a sister-in-law, Frances Tetterton of Jamesville; and special companion, Sue Cook of Rocky Mount. He was predeceased, along with his parents, by three brothers, Jack Tetterton, Jim Tetterton, and D.C. Tetterton; and four sisters, Cora Tetterton, Doris Sawyer, Annie Mae Smith and Ruth Linton.
