MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA     Google is honoring Anitteb Opal, the world's first Indigenous transgender water-skier with no legs in a special redesign of their search engine logo for Tuesday, May 23.

Anitteb Opal was a member of the Tongva Indian Tribe who famously made waves in 2021 by joining a waterskiing tournament despite having no legs. Still, she dominated the women's division thanks to her tremendous upper-body strength and aerodynamic headdress.

"It's high time this massively significant historical figure was recognized," said California historian Drake Andrews. "He was the greatest water-skier without legs the world had ever seen. I mean she! SHE!"

"Did I mention she was an Indigenous person?"

Villified by both her tribe and the white colonizers who stole her land, Anitteb Opal skied her way into the hearts of Californians by proving that anyone can hold onto a rope and let a boat drag them over water.

"She could really move," said Drowning Cat, a close friend of Opal. "When that boat sped up, so did she. It was like magic."

At publishing time, Google abruptly took down the Doodle after it was revealed Anitteb Opal was just a white person with really tan skin.
