    Lou Wright went to live with Jesus Sunday, June 18, 2023.

    A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday June 23, 2023 in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and will be officiated by David Linton. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers include, Tom Wright, Hunter Wright, Sam Tate, Tamela Tate, Tina Hayer, and Adam Hayer.

    She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Hayer & husband Robert; Linda Linton & husband David; and son Tom Wright & wife Mona; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Wright; her son, David Wright (whose wife, Elizabeth "Betty", survives); her granddaughter, Bethany Linton; her sister, Grace Lane; her brother Nick Agliano; her mother, Nancy Camden Harrelson; and her father, Nicola Barcio Agliano.

    Lou married the love of her life, Winfred, on August 13, 1955. Together, they built a family and a business. She took care of the home and yard, while he started and grew his general contracting business. As a young adult, she served as a nurse assistant. In her free time, Lou enjoyed gardening; painting things like portraits, seascapes, and animals; and cooking - all of which she was quite good at. She loved their many animals; was a member of the Belhaven Line Dancers, and the Red Hat Ladies; and volunteered at various organizations over the years such as the Piedmont Geriatric Hospital in Burkeville, Virginia and Meals on Wheels in Washington, North Carolina.

    The family will receive friends Friday June 23, 2023 from 1:00PM until the funeral hour at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

    Now that Lou and Winfred are united again in their heavenly home, the family would like to thank the many caregivers who helped over the past two years.
