   Raleigh, N.C.     Governor Pat McCrory signed the following bills into law today:

SB11 (Gunn) - Establish Organ Donation Month

    A bill designating the month of April of each year as Organ Donation Awareness/Donate Life Month and to provide that the bill shall be entitled "Duffy's Law."


SB24 (Brown) - Construction/Demolition Landfill Siting

    A bill amending the gameland buffer requirement applicable to sanitary landfills for the disposal of construction and demolition debris waste under certain conditions.


SB33 (Hartsell) - Use of Criminal History Records by Licensing Boards

    A bill requiring that occupational licensing boards consider certain factors before denying licenses to applicants with criminal records, as recommended by the Joint Legislative Administrative Procedure Oversight Committee.


SB20 (Bingham and Allran) - Good Samaritan Law

    A bill providing limited immunity from prosecution for (1) certain drug-related offenses committed by an individual who seeks medical assistance for a person experiencing a drug-related overdose and (2) certain drug-related offenses committed by an individual experiencing a drug-related overdose and in need of medical assistance.
