Mr. Zachary Shay Woolard | Eastern NC Now

    Mr. Zachary Shay Woolard, age 22, a resident of Archiball Rd., Washington, NC, died on Wednesday, April 10, 2013.

    A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, April13, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service, officiated by The Rev. Barbara Chaffee. Burial will follow at Yeatesville Cemetery. Nathan Drake, Hayden Drake, Bowen Brooks, Tyler Coward, Cody Cunningham and Benjie Brooks will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Friday, April 12, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 E., Washington, NC.

    Zack was born in Beaufort County on June 28, 1990 son of Shannon Wayne Woolard and Missy Brooks Johnson. He graduated from Washington High School in 2008. He attended St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Zack loved music and had been a lifelong musician. He became a chess master at an early age.

    Zack was a loving son, brother and friend to all those who knew him and shared his life. The memories left behind by Zack will carry on within all of us and he will never be forgotten.

    In addition to his parents he is survived by his brother, Royce Woolard of Washington; his sister, Shana Woolard Swanner of Washington; his uncle and aunts, Benjie Brooks of Yeatesville, Crystal "Bim" Woolard of Washington and Christie "Tenny" Woolard Lewis of Washington; and his grandparents, Claudie Brooks of Yeatesville and Richard and Brenda Woolard of Washington.

    He was preceded in death by his beloved maternal grandmother, Rosalee Brooks.
