    William Robert McKinney, age 54, a resident of Greenville, went to be with his Lord Friday, April 12, 2013.

    Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, April 15, 2013 at Cuthrell Cemetery, near White Hill Baptist Church, Aurora, conducted by Dr. Robert Cayton.

    William was born in Aurora, N.C. on August 30, 1958. He was the son of Amarette McKinney Mayo and the late Guy McKinney. William graduated from Aurora High School in 1977, attended Pitt Community College and graduated from the Radiologic Technologist program. He worked at Brunswick Community Hospital in Supply, N.C. for many years. While at Brunswick, William was named Employee of the Year in 1998. Later, he worked at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern.

    William is survived by his mother, Amarette Mayo of Aurora; sisters, Drucilla Johnson, Sadie Hopkins (Larry), Beadie Sullivan (Barry); and nieces and nephews.

    William was preceded in death by his father, Guy McKinney and step-father, Robert G. Mayo.

    The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside and other times at the home of his mother, Amarette Mayo, 245 South Fifth Street, Apt. 201, Mallard Creek Apartments, Aurora.
