    Mr. George Harold "Homer G" Cadwell, III, age 55, a resident of Hernando, FL and a former resident of Blounts Creek, NC died Sunday April 14, 2013 at Southport, NC.

    A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday April 18, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Dr. Gregory A. Wills. The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday April 17, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of George's father and step-mother, George H. Cadwell, II and Myrna R. Cadwell located at 4128 Gilead Shores Rd., Blounts Creek.

    George was born in Worcester County, Massachusetts on March 29, 1958 son of George H. Cadwell, Jr. and Ingrid F. Buck. He was a 1976 graduate of Chocowinity High School and served his country in the U.S Navy. Following his military career he worked as a safety engineer in the nuclear field for thirty plus years. Most recently he worked as a supervisor of mechanical maintenance at Progress Energy.

    George is survived by a daughter: Candace C. Renfro and her husband Ben of Hernando, FL; a son: George H. Cadwell, IV of Atlanta, GA; a grandson: Tyler Ace Renfro of Hernando, FL his father and step-mother: George H. Cadwell, II and Myrna R. Cadwell both of Blounts Creek; his mother: Ingrid F. Buck of Covington, GA; two sisters: Elizabeth Ann Cadwell of Crystal River, FL and Catherine S. Wills and her husband Dr. Gregory Wills of La Grange, KY; two brothers: John F. Cadwell of Orange Park, FL and Charles H. Cadwell and his wife Cindy of Raleigh; three step-sisters: Peggy R. Bright and husband Frankie of Chocowinity, Deborah G. Clark and husband Michael of Blounts Creek and Mona Joy Fleming of Blounts Creek; a step-brother: Michael E. Edwards and wife Dale of Blounts Creek and many beloved nieces and nephews. George is predeceased by two step-brothers: Gregory D. Edwards and Danny D. Edwards.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions to be made for the benefit of Tyler Ace Renfro.
