Ted Cruz On Palestinian Terror Attack Against Israel: ‘Paid For By Joe Biden And The Democrats’ | Eastern NC Now

    Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) blamed President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party for the recent terrorist attacks in Israel, saying that the administration's loosening of sanctions and recent unfreezing of Iranian assets helped finance the attack.

    The remarks come as more than 1,000 Israelis were murdered and more than 2,600+ were injured in the attack on Saturday.

    "I'll tell you what is infuriating about this. This was paid for by Joe Biden and the Democrats," Cruz said on an episode of his "Verdict" podcast with co-host Ben Ferguson.

    "This is something that the corporate media desperately wants to avoid. But let's be clear," Cruz said. "This attack, this massacre, this horrific assault on Israel, was funded by Iran. Hamas and Hezbollah are Iranian proxies. They work for Iran. They work under the direction of Iran. They are funded by Iran."

    Recent reports from The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal have said that Iran was behind the attacks, helping finance and plan the operation.

    Cruz mentioned the $6 billion in Iranian assets that the administration unfroze in exchange for five U.S. citizens being let out of wrongful detainment in Iran.

    "At $6 billion, that's $1.2 billion per American," Cruz said. "That set a bounty on Americans of over a billion dollars. That means Americans in the future will be taken hostage - but the $6 billion is just a fraction of the cash that Joe Biden has flooded into Iran. Because a few weeks before the $6 billion, the Biden administration allowed $10 billion from Iraq to flow into Iran. That brings it up to $16 billion in cash that directly flowed into Iran."


    Cruz then noted that the $16 billion paled in comparison to the revenues that the Iranians have obtained from oil ever since the Biden administration loosened sanctions, saying that Iran has been selling more than two million barrels of oil per day.

    "Over the last two and a half years, the Biden administration is responsible for roughly $50 billion," Cruz continued. "So when you are watching Israelis murdered, when you're watching infants murdered, when you are watching women and girls raped, when you're watching hundreds of Israelis taken hostage, know that Joe Biden and this White House funded it. They funded it for idiotic political reasons. And now they're desperately trying to backtrack, saying, 'No, no, no, we didn't pay for these atrocities.' They absolutely did."
