Mrs. Doris Ruth Tetterton Cutler, age 90, a former resident of Cherry Road, Washington passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at River Trace Nursing Home.

    Mrs. Doris Ruth Tetterton Cutler, age 90, a former resident of Cherry Road, Washington passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at River Trace Nursing Home.

    Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 21, 2023, officiated by Tony Krantz, at Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington.

    Mrs. Cutler was born in Beaufort County on August 27, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Hilliard Elwood Tetterton and Lorena Ruth Smith Tetterton. Mrs. Cutler graduated from Washington High School and attended Beaufort County Community College. She worked as Secretary and Bookkeeper for 36 years with Pamlico Chemical and Royster Companies. Mrs. Cutler was a member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ, where she was active in the Ladies' circles, treasurer of the Ladies' group for 30 years and sang in the church choir. Later, she moved her membership to the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Cutler volunteered with the Saturday Night Jamboree, American Red Cross, Mental Health Association and Beaufort County Hospital.

    On April 11, 1954, she married Edmond Earl "Buddy O. " Cutler, who preceded her in death, August 21, 2001.

    Mrs. Cutler is survived three daughters, Janet Cutler and spouse, Al Woolard, Anne Davenport and spouse, Charlie, Sharon Amick and spouse, Tom all of Washington; four grandchildren, Jennifer Amick and partner, Van Mines of Raleigh, Bradley Amick and spouse, Dawn of Chocowinity, Brandon Davenport and spouse, Adrianne of South Carolina, Chad Davenport of Washington; sister, Iris Lilley of Washington; six great grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews.

    In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Cutler was preceded in death by a son, Doug Cutler, July 14, 2020.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 113 North Harvey Street, Washington, N.C. 27889
