New Report Outlines The High Costs Biden’s Rules And Regulations Have On U.S. Homeowners | Eastern NC Now

    A new report released last week by a leading U.S. consumer protection organization found that the average cost of owning a home has skyrocketed under President Joe Biden.

    The Alliance for Consumers highlighted rules and regulations pushed by the Biden administration that have harmed American families as everyday items cost significantly more.

    The report comes as the Federal Reserve has significantly raised interest rates in an effort to lower surging inflation numbers during Biden's first two years in office. The impact that inflation had on the costs of household items was not factored into the Alliance for Consumers' report.

    The organization estimated that the total price tag of Biden's rules and regulations on American homeowners could be upwards of $9,000.


    Alliance for Consumers released a graphic titled "Biden's Dream House" that broke down all the ways Americans are seeing the cost of home ownership increase during the Biden administration.

    Highlights from the report included:

• Gas furnaces: $494 increase - This figure comes from the Biden administration's push for increasing energy efficiency standards for residential gas furnaces.
• Light bulbs: $140 increase - This figure comes from the Biden administration's new light bulb standards.
• Air conditioning: $1,100 increase - This figure comes from the Biden administration banning R-22 refrigerants.
• Water heaters: $2,800 increase - This figure comes from the Biden administration's push for higher-efficiency water heaters.
• Washing machines: $200 increase - This figure comes from the Biden administration's energy efficiency standards, which manufacturers say will increase costs.
• Dishwashers: $225 increase - This figure comes from a Biden administration proposal that would restrict how much water can be used by residential dishwashers, which could lead to damage to the machines and drains.
• Cars: $932 increase - This figure comes from a Biden administration proposed automotive fuel economy regulation that would increase costs on SUVs and trucks.
• Ceiling fans: $25 increase - This figure comes from proposed Biden administration regulations that would increase costs.
• Gas stoves: $800-$3,250 increase - This figure comes from proposals from the Biden administration that could potentially ban the use of gas appliances.
