Norma Everett Roberson | Eastern NC Now

    Ms. Norma Everett Roberson, age 91, a resident of Washington and Edenton House assisted living died Thursday November 9, 2023, at ECU Health Chowan Hospital in Edenton.

    A graveside funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Dolan Baker and Greg Sexton.

    Mrs. Roberson was born in Beaufort County on August 14, 1932, daughter of the late Charles Garvey Everett and the late Hilda Valarie Whitley. She was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School. On March 2, 1951, she married James William Roberson, Sr. who preceded her in death on March 7, 2004. She was very active at her church, Macedonia Christan Church where she served with the youth, taught Sunday school, and sang in the adult choir. Her church duties were fulfilled as long as her health permitted.

    Mrs. Roberson is survived by her children: James W. "Rusty" Roberson, Jr. and his wife Debra of Washington, and Kathryn Ann "Kathy" Wynne and her husband Don of Plymouth; sisters: Hilda E. Respess of Pantego, and Kathryn E. Singleton and her husband Graham of Garner; and five grandchildren: Suzanne Perry and her husband Keith of Raleigh, Emily Lindsey and her husband Tyler of Raleigh, James Roberson III and his fiancé Rebeca Harrison of Williamston, Lauren Mizelle and her husband Travis of Windsor, and Ensley Woolard and his wife Jessica of Washington; four great-grandchildren: Trey Mizelle, Rilynn Woolard, Brently Woolard, and Holden Perry; and Nancy Waters, a very special friend to Ms. Norma.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Saturday November 11, 2023 at Macedonia Christian Church and other times at the home of her son at 106 W. Bear Grass Road, Williamston, NC 27892.
