Anthony Herbert Jessen Sr. | Eastern NC Now

    Mr. Anthony Herbert Jessen, Sr., age 90, a resident of Cowan St., Washington, NC, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2013 at his home. Per his request there will be no service.

    Mr. Jessen was born in Severna Park, MD on March 16, 1923 son of the late Albert and May Kaehler Jessen. He was married on February 19, 1944 to Aletha Hamm Jessen who survives. Mr. Jessen was a veteran of the Army Air Corp and retired as a Police Sergeant with the Port Washington, NY Police Department after 22 years of service. He was also an active member of the Port Washington Fire Department and the Lions Club of Port Washington. After moving to Washington he became active with the VFW and Redmen. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Port Washington.

    In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Anthony H. "Andy" Jessen, Jr. of St. Augustine, FL; his daughter, Patricia A. Slusser and husband John of Huntington Beach, CA; his brothers, Al Jessen of Deleware and William Otto Jessen of Virginia; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
