Quick Bio:
- My name is Stacey Davis, and I am prepared to actively represent District 5 as a proud Beaufort County School Board Member. I believe the real (M)oral (V)alues (P)rinciples play an imperative part in supporting a conducive learning environment for children. Today's curriculum has become a battlefield and testing ground infiltrated by corruption. If elected, my goals are to support the educational system in letting children be children from Kindergarten, Early College to Graduation. My qualifications include a Bachelors in Public Relations, almost two decades as a local level marketer, NC Pre-K certifications and board involvements including Camp Happy Kids and Duplin County NC Pre-K, Former Licensed Teaching Qualifications in Beaufort, Duplin and Johnston Counties. I have successfully owned and operated my own business for over 18 years, headed more than my share of community events, and well comprehend the toils of budgeting, planning, and compliance. I am a native, and have two children enrolled in P.S. Jones and one John Small. I enrolled in Bath, Northside, and Chocowinity as a youth.
- My children alone give me every reason to challenge the rights to this seat, but I will also exemplify the rights of every family and citizen while protecting the innocence and safety of Beaufort County students to better prepare them for tomorrow's world today.
Intro Letter:
To All Our Friends Who Care About Education,
I am Stacey Davis, and I am running for a seat in the 2024 District 5 Beaufort County School Board Elections. This is because every student deserves a high-quality education. As a single parent of three children who attend our public schools, a former student myself who attended three Beaufort County schools throughout childhood, a native and an adoptive mother, I know firsthand the challenges students and teachers face in our education system and outside of our communities. That is why I am committed to advocating for increasing opportunities utilizing community innovation while keeping morals and values intact for better behaviors and mental health, and particular support for much-needed safety updates. Our schools must be safe, functional, and conducive to learning within limitations.
I will help promote a curriculum that is academically rigorous and prepares students for success in the 21st century by strongly encouraging a devoted focus on their developmental levels without forced agenda from outside of a family's belief system and assistance to families to understand the academic struggles of their children. This includes ensuring that our students and parents or guardians have access to well-trained instructors and counselors, the latest technologies, and resources necessary for them to strive with highly supported success. Teachers and parents can agree curriculum has faced many struggles regarding common core math and the aftermath of Covid.
As a former NC certified teacher, PTO President, and consultant, I have seen the importance of having fully educated and qualified teachers who receive the resources and support they need to help students thrive. I will help support policies that attract and retain the best educators and ensure they have the resources they need to succeed while being a valued part of our communities and helping our schools succeed. Bringing business and community together is not only something we should be doing, but a social responsibility.
Finally, I am passionate about student well-being, and I will prioritize programs that address mental health, bullying, and provide opportunities for extracurricular activities away from technology to allow the senses of our children to fully develop socially instead of through machines. I believe that a well-rounded education that addresses students' social and emotional needs is essential for their overall success. The vehicle to achievement is balance through guidance.
My firsthand experiences as a parent of three children, 18 - year business owner, community advocate, Duplin County NC Pre-K Board Member, education professional that has worked or volunteered in four school districts Onslow, Carteret, Craven and Beaufort has prepared me well for this role. I hold a degree in Public Relations with a large concentration on globalization and have volunteered in various capacities in my children's schools and communities. As a community leader, I have advocated for activities and policies that improve education outcomes for all students, teachers, towns, cities, and parents.
I am committed to helping create excellent educational opportunities for all students while exhibiting "MVP" (morals, values, principles) qualities. By committing to the school board, I pledge to work for our families and teachers while supporting a better infrastructure to prepare today's students of Beaufort County for tomorrow's world. In further hopes of retaining our students and maintaining our values enriching the growth of citizens for generations to come within our county. I thank you for considering me as a candidate, and I would be honored to have your vote.
With Warm Regards,
Stacey Davis
