Winfred “Fred” Fredere Porter | Eastern NC Now

    Winfred "Fred" Fredere Porter, age 65, a resident of Blounts Creek, NC died Thursday February 29, 2024 at his home.

    A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday March 3, 2024 at Aurora United Methodist Church and will be officiated by Rev. Lee Porter. Burial will follow in Pineland Cemetery in Aurora. Pallbearers include Ray Lewis, David Hodges, Brian Ireland, Matthew Boyd, Ricky Henries, Jr. and Tab Porter

    Mr. Porter was born in Beaufort County on January 22, 1959 to the late George Lee Porter and Edna Hill Porter. He was a 1977 graduate of Aurora High School. On July 3, 1989 he married Cynthia "Cindy" Ann Fleming. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for PCS Phosphate for 43 years retiring in 2021. Mr. Porter enjoyed Hunting, being outdoors, playing music especially drumming, and loved his animals. He was a member of Aurora United Methodist Church and attended Word Fellowship in Grantsboro.

    Survivors include his wife, Cindy Porter, two daughters, Stephanie Porter of Greenville, Ashlee Porter of the home, two grandchildren, Allie Porter, Isaiah Bullock, two brothers, Bobby Porter and wife Tina of Aurora, Rev. Lee Porter and wife Sue of Columbia, SC, a sister, Lynn Edwards and husband Ronnie of Aurora, and several nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends Sunday March 3, 2024 from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at Aurora United Methodist Church and other times at the home.
