Suzanne Nicole Scott Gregory | Eastern NC Now

    Suzanne Nicole "Mama Sue" Scott Gregory, age 48, a resident of Belhaven, NC, died April 12, 2024, at her home.

    A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday April 17, 2024, at Bethany Methodist Church Cemetery and will be officiated by Pastor Harry Smith. The pallbearers will include, Jesse Bonds, Adam Bonds, Scott Bryant, Austin Cherry, Aaron Cherry and Bert Gregory, Jr. Honorary pallbearers include Bryan Williams and Dylan Respess.

    Mrs. Gregory was born in Pitt County on March 7, 1976, to John Scott Jr. and Peggy Sue Wainwright. She was a 1995 graduate of Bear Grass High School and enjoyed working for Walgreens as an associate. On July 4, 2020, she married the love of her life Bert Gregory III. She was a devoted mother and wife. Her family was very important to her, and she loved spending time with them. Road trips and going to the beach were some of her favorite ways to spend her day. She never knew a stranger.

    Survivors include, her husband Bert Franklin Gregory III of the home, four children, Austin Cherry of Belhaven, Haley Respess (Dylan) of Plymouth, Aaron Cherry of Belhaven, Hannah Jarman of Belhaven, two step children, Tyler Jarman, Kaleb Jarman of Raleigh, four sisters, Vickie Warner (Jack) of Boone, Dana Bryant (Andy) of Virginia, Jennifer Bonds (Randy) of Bear Grass, five nieces and nephews, Heather Gurkin, Brandy Bonds, Jesse Bonds, Scott Bryant, Adam Bonds, three special people in her life, Bert and Shelley Gregory, Helen Killingsworth, and several great nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Sue Wainwright Scott.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday April 16, 2024, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
