    Mr. Charlie Harold Haddock, age 75, a resident of Elks Road, Chocowinity, NC passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Ridgewood Manor.

    There will be a celebration of his life Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service officiated by Ray Lewis. Special music will be provided by Brenda Burroughs and Linwood Lewis. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. A private burial will be held at Wesley Cemetery.

    Mr. Haddock was born October 14, 1937 in Pitt County, son of the late Charlie Lee and Inez Coward Haddock. After graduating from high school he served his country in the Air Force during the Viet Nam War. He was married to Shirley Elks Haddock who preceded him in death on December 3, 2010. Mr. Haddock lived and worked in Tappahannock, VA since age 25 and returned to North Carolina several years ago working as an electrician. He was a member of the Aulander Hunting Club and the New Destiny Pentecostal Holiness Church in Greenville.

    Mr. Haddock is survived by his daughter, Angela White and husband Lewis of Hamilton; his sisters, Dorothy H. Lewis, Annie Belle Wallace and husband Donald and Sylvia Liverman and husband Levy all of Washington and Juanita H. Buck and husband Jimmy of Chocowinity; and one grandchild, Burt White of Cary, NC.

    In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Esther Smith and his brother-in-law, Odie Lewis.

    The family suggests that memorials in Charlie's memory be made to Family Life Tabernacle, 6630 Hwy 43 South, Greenville, NC 27858.
