Mr. Frederick Eugene Williamson, age 90, a resident of Washington, NC died Saturday July 13, 2024, at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

    Mr. Frederick Eugene Williamson, age 90, a resident of Washington, NC died Saturday July 13, 2024, at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

    The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday July 27, 2024, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and a procession will follow to Oakdale Cemetery for a graveside service.

    Mr. Williamson was born in Nash County on February 19, 1934, son of the late Wade Cecil Williamson and the late Annie Lewis Odom. He attended Washington High School before serving his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean war. After his service in the Navy, he worked as an Engineer at the Army Security Agency in Arlington, VA until his retirement from civil service. On October 12, 1957, he married the former Mary Alyce Ramey who survives. He attended First Baptist Church in Washington as a child and continued worshiping there upon returning to Washington after his retirement. With his engineering experience he loved building things. When time allowed, he enjoyed hunting. Mr. Williamson was a member of the American Legion in Capon Bridge, West Virginia.

    Surviving along with his wife, Mary are his children: Sandra Lynne Williamson Scheidegger and her husband Jon Nicholas, Peggy Ann Williamson Mathews and her husband Antonio of Manassas, VA, and Donald Eugene Williamson of Stephens City, VA; a sister: Joyce Ann Williamson Hodges of Washington; a sister-in-law: Sandra Williamson of Kissimmee, FL; grandchildren: Kristen Danielle Hatfield and her husband Matthew, Amy Lynne Scheidegger Ducos and her husband Pedro, David Michael Mathews, Amanda Nicole Williamson, and Kaylee Dawn Williamson; and great grandchildren: Olivia Brie Ducos Scheidegger and Anna Claire Hatfield. Mr. Williamson was predeceased, along with his parents, by a brother: Henry Lee Williamson and a brother-in-law: James Hodges. In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church, 113 N. Harvey St., Washington, NC 27889.
