    Mary Edith Waters Smith, age 79, a resident of Belhaven, NC died Friday August 16, 2024 at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home in Washington.

    In place of a service, the Smith family kindly requests you set aside time to spend with your family and loved ones.

    Mrs. Smith was born in Deep Creek, VA on April 4, 1945 to the late Charlie Thomas Waters and the late Olise Stotesberry Waters. On June 25, 1961 she married Marvin Smith who preceded her in death on January 29, 2021. She was a member of New Hope Church of Christ. Mrs. Smith enjoyed working with her flowers.

    Survivors include her son, Scott Smith of Belhaven.

    In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Charles Smith in September of 1963, a daughter, Krystale Smith in June of 1983, a brother, Alfred Waters, and a sister Shirley Everett.
