Monna Jay Toler Cutler | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Monna Jay Toler Cutler, age 91, a resident of Chesapeake, Virginia and a former resident of Washington, North Carolina died Friday, August 23, 2023, at Chesapeake Regional Hospital.

    A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, North Carolina officiated by Greg Barmer. Pallbearers will be Jordan Andrews, Brett Andrews, Noah Cutler, Kenneth Roebuck, Daren Hill, and Ryan Hill.

    Mrs. Cutler was born in Beaufort County on February 11, 1933, daughter of the late Clifton Leo Toler and the late Flora E. Elks Toler. She was a graduate of Washington High School who continued her education and received her B.S. Degree from ECU. Later she completed her master's degree at Old Dominion University. After teaching for forty-two years she retired from Chesapeake City Schools. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and a former member of the Jaycees, the Women's Club, and Centerville Baptist Church in Chesapeake.

    Survivors include her children: Corrine Cutler Andrews and her husband Paul of Chesapeake and Clifton "Neil" C. Cutler, Jr. and his wife Julie of Currituck, NC; grandchildren: Jordan Andrews, Brett Andrews, Lauren Cutler, and Noah Cutler; and a great grandchild: Lillian Andrews. Mrs. Cutler was predeceased, along with her parents and husband Clifton C. Cutler, by a brother: Clifton L. Toler, Jr. and a sister: Brenda E. Toler Hill.
