Gloria Romero, former Democrat Majority Leader of the Califronia State Senate has announced that she has switched her voter registration to Republican and will be supporting President Trump. She is the latest former or present Democrat legislator to cross over to the GOP.
"Today, I say goodbye, adios. I've had enough," Senator Romero said. "I am now another near lifelong Democrat who is joining the growing number of people who are leaving the Democratic Party. This is not the Democratic Party that I once championed. I do not recognize it anymore and I cannot continue. I changed my voter registration as the sun was rising today to Republican, which under Donald Trump become the champion of the working people, the big tent, and, indeed I will vote for Donald Trump this fall."
Interesting;y, the three recent legislative switches from Democrat to Republican have all been female and minority, two Hispanic and one black.
