    Mr. David Ennis Tabbutt, age 81, of Belhaven, NC died Friday September 20, 2024, at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital in Washington. A visitation and viewing will be held Friday, October 4, 2024 from 6-8 pm at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven.

    Mr. Tabbutt was born on October 14, 1942 in Washington, DC. He spent most of his early life residing in Pennsylvania. He grew up in Havertown and later raised his children in Broomall, PA. Mr. Tabbutt was a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy in Wayne, PA. He continued his education in Greenville at East Carolina University. He was lovingly referred to as "Butts" by all of the lifelong friends he made at ECU. Before relocating to Belhaven, Mr. Tabbutt was a commercial real estate broker in Philadelphia, Pa. He worked at and eventually owned Levy Lynch Real Estate Company. Mr. Tabbutt was an avid ham radio operator and was a member of the Pamlico Amateur Radio Club. He enjoyed classic cars, boating, fixing things in his workshop and watching sports, especially his favorite Philadelphia sports teams: the Eagles and Phillies.

    Mr. Tabbutt is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Louise Baeringer, whom he married on November 4, 2005. He is also survived by his two daughters: Jennifer Straub (Steve) of Broomall, PA, and Julie Spaulding (Andrew) of Wayne, PA; and his five grandchildren: Kiley Straub, Ryan Straub, Olivia Spaulding, Ben Spaulding and Charlotte Spaulding. He also had a special bond with Junior, his canine companion of 14 years. Mr. Tabbutt is predeceased by his parents, David Wass Tabbutt and Martha Wyatt Ennis; as well as his first wife and mother of his children, Betsy Lynch Tabbutt.
