    Mrs. Lessie Brinson Hayes passed away to her Heavenly home on Saturday, July 27, 2013 surrounded by her children and grandchildren at her home in Aurora.

    She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

    Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus C. and Nancy Brinson, brothers, Howard, Seth, Rufus and Edward Brinson, sisters, Ruby Brinson Elliott and Bessie Mae Warren, husband, Heber E. Hayes and son Lathel Ward Cayton, Jr.

    Mrs. Hayes is survived by three daughters, Patricia Stilley (Ken) of Aurora, June Bennett (Lee) of Edward and Gloria Stark (Jim) of New Bern, NC, ten grandchildren, Kenny Stilley ( Sandy), Kevin Stilley ( Angie), Eric Stilley ( Danielle), Lisa Rock (Scott), Cindy Williams (Dale), Brad Bennett, Jason Stark, Brent Stark (Kim), Colby Stark (Maryanne) and Lynn Cayton, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, three step children, June Hayes Wagner, Ed Hayes and Alison Hayes two nephews, Seth Brinson, Jr. and Edward Brinson, Jr. and two nieces, Nancy Brinson White and Carol Broome.

    Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Mary’s Chapel Christian Church, 3750 Mary’s Chapel Church Road, Aurora, NC 27806, with Pastor Mike Oliver and Rev. Wesley Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Cuthrell-Dixon Cemetery, 9204 Old Sandhill Road, Aurora, NC 27806. Mrs. Hayes grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

    The family will receive friends at the Hayes home located at 4566 Mary’s Chapel Church Road, Aurora, NC 27806.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mary’s Chapel Christian Church, 3779 Mary’s Chapel Church Road, Aurora, NC 27806.
