William “Bill” Amos Harris Sr. | Eastern NC Now

    William "Bill" Amos Harris, Sr., age 76, a resident of Washington, died Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Universal Health Care in Greenville.

    A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

    Bill was born on August 12, 1948, in Pitt County to the late Ralph and Lucy Moseley Harris. He attended Chocowinity High School and was a US Army veteran, serving in Korea. On March 8, 1967, he married the love of his life Lois Jennette Smith. Bill worked for 33 years at Hyster Yale in Quality Control, retiring in 2010. He was an avid hunter, loved working on and fixing things, and he loved sitting on his porch talking to people. Bill was a member of the Redmen Lodge in Washington and Southern Dismal Wildlife Club.

    Survivors include his wife, Lois Harris of the home, son, William Harris, Jr, (Kary) of Weddington, brother, Earl Harris of Newton, sister, Velma Lokey of Blackjack, grandchildren, Emily and Talbot Harris, several nieces, nephews, great niece, and great great nephew.
