Bruce Alfred Ross Scrase | Eastern NC Now

    Bruce Alfred Ross Scrase affectionately known as Bud of 530 East Street Belhaven passed away into the arms of his Savior Sunday December 8, 2024

    Bud was born February 27, 1939 in Philadelphia PA, to Charles Albert Ross Scrase and Lula Carter Scrase. On June 10, 1962 he married Helen Rowe. Bud & Helen shared 50 years of marriage until her death October 26, 2012. Together they shared two sons, Mark Ross Scrase and Matthew Charles Scrase. On August 27, 2016 he married Doris Honeycutt, who survives.

    In addition to his wife Doris, Bud is survived by his son Matthew of Maury, his sister Susan Scrase Dixon of Odenton, MD beloved cousin Doris Choate of Mechanicsville, PA and his 2 precious grandsons Yuri and Misha Scrase-Chandler of Montpelier, VA Sandy Lucas Carawan, affectionately known as "the daughter he never had" and her husband Ricky of Belhaven and a host of nieces and nephews.

    Bud was a member of Trinity Methodist Church Belhaven, where he served as narrator & sound man until his declining health prevented him.

    Preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen and their son Mark Ross Scrase

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregiver Jenny Keech

    A memorial service will be held at Trinity Methodist Church Belhaven at 1:00 Friday December 13.

    In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Trinity Methodist Church.
