What happens when illegal aliens leave? Florida shows the way | Eastern NC Now

Florida crackdown on illegal aliens saw many leave and economy thrive

ENCNow

The pro-amnesty left likes to put out horror stories on what might happen to the economy if large numbers of illegal aliens leave.  We now have a test case that shows it is actually quite positive for the economy.  All we have to do is look at the results of Florida's crackdown on illegal aliens a year and a half ago.  As the left predicted, that encouraged many illegal aliens to leave the state, but the economic impact was the opposite of what the left predicted.  Florida's economy has thrived with a lesser population of illegal aliens.

in the year and a half since Florida's illegal alien crackdown, Florida's economy grew by 3.2%, above the national average.  It added 133,000 new jobs.  Its construction, agriculture, and tourism industries boomed.  The use of Emergency Medical Assistance, the fund tapped by hospitals to pay for healthcare for illegal aliens fell by half.
