Publisher's note: This news release, here below, like this one just a few days earlier, was sent to me by Attorney General Roy Cooper, not because I am the publisher of one of the most important news and information sites in northeastern North Carolina, but because he still somehow thinks I am a Democrat and wants me to give him money because he is so unabashedly liberal. Oddly, I am listed in the Democrat database as one of the faithful. Remember the "Dear Friends" missives of the past.

Embedded within this Candidate Obama devotee's missive continuing his allegiance to all things Liberal were three links to the same contribution page ( which I won't be showing you) within the same paragraph. Apparently, the erstwhile NC AG believes his most ardent supporters to be of the "low-information" variety, who will believe any lie providing that it is presented by a Liberal, for he then provided two reminders in the same paragraph before they could move on to the next paragraph.

What is readily apparent is that the Attorney General serves the master of a separate policy of another government, and not the policy of the People of North Carolina, which is his charge. If there are any Liberal friends of the Attorney General, who feel so inclined to relate this professional's opinion of the AG: He is, like so many (but not all) North Carolina Lawyers, a complete boob with a very low tolerance to actual working principles. Furthermore, should this unprincipled boob seek higher office, I will have much fun with his complete lack of intellectual acuity and severe misplaced principles, for my publications, especially Beaufort County NOW, are very well read by some very smart folks.

Attorney General Cooper's intellectual sufficiency and shollow bench of usable, working principles are more in line with U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, than anyone I would want representing me anywhere to anyone.

North Carolina's Attorney General Cooper is a disgrace to his elected position and to the People of North Carolina that he is paid to represent.

News Release:

Yesterday, despite being warned of its consequences, Gov. Pat McCrory signed HB 589 into law.

This regressive elections law restricts voting, allows more corporate money into politics and reduces public disclosure for special interests looking to influence elections. Plus it cuts short the time for early voting and stops those who go to the wrong precinct from casting provisional ballots. And on and on.

I urged the Governor to veto and more than 17,000 of you joined me in just four days.

Though I’m appalled that the bill is now law, I am encouraged by your response.

It is time to get involved. It is time to work for change. It is time to take a stand.
