Amish volunteers outdoing Biden's woke FEMA in hurricane relief | Eastern North Carolina Now

the true heroes of Helene

ENCNow

Another story has emerged like that of the West Virginia coal miners working as volunteers and using their own equipment rebuilding a hurricane destroyed road in a week that government officials had said would take over a year.  This one involves Amish volunteers from Pennsylvania.

With many housing units destroyed, temporary housing for hurricane victims has been a problem.  In three months after the hurricane, FEMA had only promised 26 homes to the thousands who had lost theirs and only aactually provided 3 of those 26.

Then 62 Amish volunteers drove their buggies down from Pennsylvania with $300,000 they had raised among their community.  In 48 hours, they had built twelve tiny homes for hurricane victims.  With their billions, FEMA could only provide 3 temporary housing units in three months, while the Amish with $300,000 provided twelve in 48 hours.

FEMA under Biden seems to care more about promoting the radical DEI agenda than helping hurricane victims.  It is an agency that badly needs reform under the new Trump administration.  Maybe they should just contract out their responsibilities to the Amish. At least then, they would get done.

Democrat Governor Roy Cooper has also been horrible at hurricane relief, with lots still not done for hurricanes from earlier years, and a recent audit showing lots of money that could not be accounted for in the hurricane programs from earlier storms. Unlike the governors of Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, Cooper failed to pre-stage supplies and personnel ahead of Hurricane Helene.

FEMA bought a huge fleet of emergency trailers. The reason only three have made their way to western North Carolina is twofold. Many of them are still being occupied by victims of hurricanes from past years because FEMA is so inept in completing its mission. Many of them are also being used to house illegal aliens who were nowhere near any of the storms instead of American storm victims.
