Newsom, Democrats try to channel fire relief money thru Dem political groups | Eastern NC Now

using a disaster to pull a political scam

ENCNow

A scandal is mushrooming over Democrats including California Governor Newsom, trying to  divert contributions for wildfire victims relief to a Democrat Super PAC political committee, using the corrupt fundraising organization ActBlue.  Not only has Gov. Newsom urged citizens to send money for wildfire relief to this political committee, but so has Massachusetts far left Senator (and self-styled Cherokee) Elizabeth Warren.

ActBlue is currently under criminal investigation by multiple state Attorneys General for campaign finance violations.  One of their alleged practices is "smurfing", taking political contributions from unnamed people but reported them under names of people who did not give the money and have no idea their names are being used for that purpose.  ActBlue collects enough information from any who contribute that way that the information could be used by them for smurfing in future campaigns.

Then there is the question of who the Democrat political super PAC gives any money collected to, and how much is deducted by both ActBlue and the SuperPAC.  One named recipient, for example is an activist group promoting illegal immigration.

A major Democrat operative once had a slogan of "never let a good crisis go to waste" and these underhanded Democrat political hacks are following that strategy to divert money from well meaning citizens for ulterior motive uses.
