Don Clark Bright | Eastern NC Now

    Dr. Don Clark Bright, MD, age 79, a resident of Bath, died Thursday, January 16, 2025, at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital.

    A service will be held at a later date.

    Don was born on October 2, 1945, in Pasquotank County, to the late Elliott Hollowell Bright and Grace Taylor Bright. He attended Pasquotank County Schools. He received his undergraduate degree from and attended Medical School at UNC Chapel Hill. Don did his internship in Lexington, KY, and his residency at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital. On January 10, 1969, he married Mary Bailey. Don retired in 2019 as an Anesthesiologist. He enjoyed cutting grass, working on cars, building, and fixing things, his fruit trees, and visits, with family, to his beloved beach house in Pine Knoll Shores. Don was preceded in death by his brothers Douglas and Scott Bright.

    Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Bailey Bright of the home, his children, Dennise Hollowell-Bright Cox (Gregory) of Sapphire, NC, Morgan Donnell-Bright Herr (Jeffrey) of Raleigh, NC and Travis Andrew Bright (Merrill) of Greenville, NC, grandchildren, Ashlyn Cox, Mason Herr, Emerson Herr, Wyatt Bright and Brinson Bright.
