Linda Odom Jernigan | Eastern NC Now

    Linda Odom Jernigan, 73 years old, was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she passed away in Corpus Christi, Texas on October 5th, 2024. Linda was born on March 31,1951 in Williamston, North Carolina to Perry and Courtney Odom. She grew up in Williamston, North Carolina and graduated from Williamston High School. Linda attended Martin Community College where she obtained her Cosmetology license. She was a longtime member of Community Christian Church. She was known for her kind heart and calm spirit. Linda never met a stranger and was known as "Nanny" to many. She made friends wherever she went and was dearly loved by all.

    Linda was proceeded in death by her parents Perry Edward Odom and Courtney Jenkins Odom, her sister Kathy Odom Parrott (Floyd) and her great granddaughter Jayla Ward and Baby Boy Dodson.

    Linda is survived by her brother Perry Edward Odom, Jr (Ann); brother-in-law, Floyd Parrott (Kathy); daughters Angela Payne (Dale), Amanda Kimbrell (Bill), and Ana Capps; grandchildren Jami Dodson (Payton), Kaylin Kimbrell-Lopez (Robert), Billy Kimbrell, Jeffery Ward, Jerrett Ward, Lauren Wright (Daniel) and Riley Payne. Great-grandchildren: Courtni Dodson, Harlen Dodson, Aubree Kimbrell, Cash Arredondo, Brilynn Kimbrell, Kylie Ward, and Wesley Wright.

    A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery on Saturday, February 8th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The family invites all friends and family to join us in a Celebration of Life to honor Linda.

    Our family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all friends, family and caregivers for all the love and care and compassion she was shown. Though she is gone, her legacy of love will remain with us always.
