Stella Agnes Dixon Singleton | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Stella Agnes Dixon Singleton, age 84, a resident of the Clarks Neck Community of Washington, NC died February 7, 2025, at East Carolina Medical Center in Greenville.

    A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday February 11, 2025, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Rev. Gordon Jones. A burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Dylan Singleton, Mark Singleton, Jr. Jonathan Singleton, Nick Steinert, Josh Gaskins, and Jake Jones.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday February 10, 2025, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of Mrs. Singleton's daughter, Cindy Jones, located at 94 Winchester Drive, Washington, NC 27889.

    Mrs. Singleton was born in Beaufort County on August 12, 1940, daughter of the late Jesse Dixon and the late Agnes Beacham Dixon. She attended Washington High School and on September 1, 1957, she married James William Singleton, Sr. who preceded her in death on November 6, 2010. She was a assembler at Stanadyne for 15 years. Mrs. Singleton enjoyed reading, crabbing, crossword puzzles, sewing and playing the piano. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church.

    Survivors include her children: Cindy Jones and her husband Randy of Washington, James "Jim" Singleton, Jr. and his wife Jennie of Washington, Gay Caraway and her husband Robert of Greenville, and Mark Singleton and his wife Tina of Washington; brothers: William Dixon and his wife Wanda of Washington, and Henry Dixon of Greenville; grandchildren: Shanna Steinert and her husband Nick, Katelyn Gaskins and her husband Josh, Dylan Singleton, Laura Grooms, Robyn Hamilton, Jessica Jones and husband Jake, Mark Singleton, Jr., Taylor Singleton, and Jonathan Singleton; and great grandchildren: Sawyer Steinert, Liam Steinert, Stella Gaskins, Waylon Hamilton, Sloan Hamilton, Hayden Jones, and Layla Jones.
