Kansas City star Travis Kelce appeared to shake off the haters, calling it "a great honor" that President Donald Trump will be attending Super Bowl LIX on Sunday in New Orleans - even after Trump made it clear months earlier that he wasn't a fan of Kelce's superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift.

Speaking to members of the press, the Chiefs player was asked his reaction to Trump becoming the first sitting U.S. President to ever attend the Super Bowl, which is set to take place between the Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome.

"That's awesome. It's a great honor," Kelce said. "I think you know, no matter who the president is, I know I'm excited because it's the biggest game of my life, you know, and having the president there - it's the best country in the world - and that's pretty cool."

When Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes was asked the same question, he gave a similar response.

"It's always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president," Mahomes said. "Someone that is at the top position in our country."

The comments from Kelce and Mahomes come months after Trump blasted Swift for publicly endorsing Trump's former opponent for president, former Vice President Kamala Harris.

During his appearance in September on "Fox and Friends," Trump called in and was asked what he thought about Swift's public support of Harris and he noted that she had always been a Democrat supporter.

"I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better, if you want to know the truth," the president told the hosts, referencing Chiefs QB Mahomes' wife Brittany Mahomes who made headlines after she liked a Trump post and promptly went on defense against the "haters."

"She's a big Trump fan," he added. "I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time. She couldn't ... you couldn't possibly endorse [President Joe] Biden."

"You look at Biden, you couldn't possibly endorse him," Trump continued. "But she's a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she'll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace. But no, I like Brittany. I think Brittany's great. She got a lot of news last week ..."

Trump previously thanked the wife of the Chiefs star after she liked a post in which he outlined his 2024 Make America Great Again platform - and then quickly hit back at those who didn't approve of what she'd done.

Now that President Trump is picking his cabinet and immediate staff to insulate him from the poor judgement of the Bureaucratic Class, while moving quickly to transition this Constitutional Republic unto a wise and sustainable direction: What is your immediate impression as to how our nation will prosper?
We are headed toward a Golden Age in America's self-governed society.
This will all wind up in a clustered mess since Trump is a Fascist, and thought to be the second coming of Adolf Hitler by our best journalists.
This is a time where critical days lay ahead, where only wise and responsible decisions must be made to sustain US.
I generally do not pay attention, but expect only the best to occur ... and that is what I always expect.
