Mona Mae Keech | Eastern NC Now

    Mona M. Keech passed away Thursday February 28, 2025. Her parents, Walter Warren Keech and Beatrice Latham Keech, and her brother, Lindsey Warren Keech preceded her in death. Mona graduated from Bath High School in 1955.

    Upon graduation she immediately went to work with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C. in the Fingerprint Division. She worked with the Bureau for almost two years and decided to return to school. She graduated from Stenotype Institute in DC as a court reporter. After graduation she returned to North Carolina and was employed with the NC Industrial Commission in Raleigh as a court reporter.

    Mona retired in 1993 and became a mediator and self employed as a consultant in workers compensation. She was appointed by the Speaker of the House and served three terms on the State Employees Supplemental Retirement Board. Even though she lived in Raleigh, Mona remained a lifelong member of the Hunter's Bridge Church.

    She is survived by a nephew, Tony Warren Keech, Sr. and wife Sandra; a niece Kristie Keech Dunn, and a grandnephew, T.J. Keech.

    A graveside service will be held 2:00PM Monday March 3, 2025 at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington and will be officiated by Pastor Eric Hill.

    The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
