Rosa Waters Woolard | Eastern NC Now

    Rosa Waters Woolard, age 90, a resident of Washington, died Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the home of her daughter, Sheila Toler.

    A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Pamlico Memorial Gardens, with Pastor David Linton officiating. Michael Smith, Jackie Smith, Timothy Carson, Jr., Daniel Woolard, Gevin Moore and Bubba Lewis will serve as pallbearers.

    The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, and other times at the home of her daughter, Sheila Toler.

    Rosa was born on March 25, 1934, in Beaufort County, to the late Levin Randolph Waters and Hazel Smith Waters. She attended John Small School. She worked at Hamilton Beach and was a caregiver in healthcare. Rosa loved making quilts, coloring pictures, gardening and working in her yard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry O'Neal Woolard, son, Larry O'Neal Woolard, Jr. and sister, Icelene Daughtry.

    Survivors include daughters, Carolyn Carson of Washington, Sheila Woolard Toler and husband Kelvin of Washington and Terri Jean Eash and husband Glenn of Indiana, son, Randy Lewis Woolard of Washington, brothers, Adrian Waters of Chocowinity and Thomas Earl Waters of Washington, grandchildren, fifteen, great-grandchildren, twenty-nine, great great-grandchildren, two, step-grandchildren, two, step-great grandchildren, three.

    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
