Treasure Hodges Edwards | Eastern NC Now

    Treasure Hodges Edwards, age 89, a resident of Chocowinity, died Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital.

    A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, with Reggie Braziel and Eddie Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The staff of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington will serve as pallbearers.

    The family will receive friends on Friday one hour prior to the funeral service at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

    Treasure was born on March 24, 1935, in Beaufort County, to the late Leslie Waite Hodges and Emmie Boyd Hodges. She was a graduate of East Carolina University with three master's degrees and certified from UNC in Education. Treasure was an educator and principal for 37 1/2 years. She was a member of the NC Education Association and a past member of the Hat Society. She enjoyed painting, photography, sewing and being on the water. Treasure was a member of the Old Ford Church of Christ, where she had served in the past as a Sunday school teacher and choir member. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy LeVerne Edwards, sisters, Carole Hodges Raiford and Opal Stallings, brother, Ben Hodges and nephew Robert "Bobby" Hodges.

    Survivors include her nephews, Mac Hodges (Meta) of Washington, Les Hodges of Washington and niece in law, Betsy D. Hodges of Washington.
