Bobby Loyd Tetterton | Eastern NC Now

    Bobby Loyd Tetterton, age 70, a resident of Washington, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Saturday June 21, 2025 at his home.

    A graveside memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday June 24, 2025 at the Sasnett Family Cemetery in Washington and will be officiated by lifelong friend and Pastor Charles Latham.

    Mr. Tetterton was born in Beaufort County on February 22, 1955 to the late Julius S. Tetterton and Blanche McGowan Tetterton. He was a 1973 graduate of Bath High School. On June 3, 1977 he married Leigh Sasnett. Mr. Tetterton retired as the Maintenance Mechanic from Pettigrew State Park in 2018 and owned Broad Creek Woodworks. He enjoyed camping, fishing, building, creating and designing. Mr. Tetterton enjoyed good conversations, loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of Full House Waiting in Chocowinity.

    Survivors include his wife Leigh S. Tetterton of the home, his daughter, Robyn S. Donaghy and husband Adam of Vanceboro, his son, Adam Dean Tetterton and wife Angela of Washington, his adopted in spirit son, Scott Tetterton and wife Catherine of Gloucester, VA three grandchildren, Robert Donaghy, Bryan Donaghy, Amos Tetterton, and a sister, Louise Boyd Barnes and husband Billy of Knoxville, TN.

    He is preceded in death by his brother, Buster Tetterton and a sister, Judy Harris.
