Denmark has resisted mass migration under both left and right

Denmark's Social Democrat Prime Minister has just become the European Union's president, which rotates among countries, and she used her opening address to the European parliament to take aim at EU mass migration policies.  Her major point is that the main group being hurt by mass migration is Europe's own poor.

Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen declared that "I believe in and fight for a tight immigration policy because the people who pay the price of high crime levels in European cities and the insecurity that this uncontrolled migration has contributed are the European people who are most disadvantaged."  She continued. "European citizens have a right to feel secure in their own countries, that is why we need to strengthen our external borders, lower the influx of migrants to Europe, we need to help stabilize Europe's neighboring countries, and make the process of returns easier and more efficient."

Prime Minister Frederiksen also challenged those who want to see the EU become a super state.  She stressed national identity, saying "I am Danish before I am anything else."

Denmark has consistently resisted mass migration under governments of both the left and the right.  It is one issue that all sides in Danish politics believe in. As a result, Denmark has by far the lowest population of Third World migrants of any country in western Europe.  When Angela Merkel opened the floodgates to illegal migration to Germany, Denmark responded by closing its borders with Germany so they would not spill over into Denmark.  The Danish government also greatly reduced the amount of welfare available to asylum seekers and took out ads in Turkey which was then the staging ground for illegal aliens coming into Europe letting them know of the big welfare reduction and that Denmark did not want them.

Meanwhile Greece's prime minister, who is from the traditional conservative New Democracy Party, has lowered the boom on migrants trying to get into Greece. He has totally stopped allowing any asylum applications from Muslim North Africa and announced tough border control measure.  "Those migrants who enter the country illegally will be arrested and detained," Prime Minister Mitsotakis declared.

European countries should do like the Trump administration and cut off welfare funds to illegal aliens. Illegal aliens, for example, account for 63% of all welfare spending in Germany. These freeloaders should not be a financial burden on taxpayers anywhere in the western world.
